There are two types of heather honey, each with different properties. So we have autumn heather honey and spring heather honey. The spring and autumn heather (or sousoura) are among the most important beekeeping plants in Greece. It is produced almost all over the country.

Autumn heather honey is more flavorful than that of spring heather and is distinguished by its strong taste.
Its aroma is characteristic, delicate and its color is reddish.
Due to its high natural glucose content, it crystallizes very quickly.

Heather honey is considered a very nutritious type of honey and particularly tonic for the human body, which is why it is mainly sold in health food stores. It also helps reduce cholesterol.
